I received a BS degree in Elementary Education from Pikeville College, Pikeville, Kentucky.  I obtained a Master Degree from Radford University, Radford, Virginia.

This is my 29th year of teaching.

I am married to Richie Thomas (Tommy) Blankenship. Tommy retired after 33 years of working in the education system. In those 33 years he has been a teacher, student education driver, coach, student coordinator, and a principal. We have been married for 18 years.  I have three children. Stephanie Suzanne, Thomas Anthony, and Lisa Marie. They reside in Kentucky. I have six grandchildren. Taylor Anne, she is a Junior at Western Kentucky University in Boiling Green, Kentucky. Haley Dawn is a senior at Garrard County High School, Danville, Kentucky. Steven Bryce is a Junior at Garrard County High, Katelyn Anne-Marie is a Freshman at Garrard County High, Brayden Cole is in the seventh grade at Garrard Middle School, and Landon Timothy is in the second grade at Hurley Elementary-Middle School, Hurley, Virginia.

I love teaching. My grandmother Addie Marie Conn Tester was a teacher and I always wanted to follow in her footsteps. She taught at Kelsa Elementary School near Hurley, Virginia. I had the privilege of going to work with her on occasion. I had a school picture taken with her once, and I can remember her allowing me to ring the school bell. From then on I was always hooked on teaching. I was only five when she passed away but she made such a lasting impression on me that I have always wanted to become a teacher just like her.
